Digital ID Forum is an international conference dedicated to the future of digital identity, technological innovation, cybersecurity, and regulatory frameworks shaping digital trust across Europe. Organized by IDENTT Poland, it serves as a platform for dialogue between business, government, and academia — where experts analyze the challenges and opportunities defining the digital economy.
The second edition, held on October 27–28 in Wrocław, gathered nearly 200 participants from 10 countries and 2 continents, including 40 speakers, 7 discussion panels, and 14 presentations. Over two days, Wrocław became Europe’s hub for conversations about digital identity, cybersecurity, and AI — the cornerstones of the continent’s digital future.
The first day demonstrated that digital identity is no longer just a technological issue but a strategic pillar of the modern economy and national security. Experts from administration, business, and academia met at the Ibis Styles Hotel to explore how to build a future where technology, law, and trust coexist in harmony.
The atmosphere was exceptional — dynamic, insightful, and inspiring. Throughout the day, engaging discussions and exchanges of ideas confirmed one thing: innovation must go hand in hand with responsibility.

Dr. Thirimachos Bourlai: Biometrics Today and Tomorrow – Trends and Perspectives
Dr. Thirimachos Bourlai, a world-class expert in multispectral imaging and biometrics, opened the Forum. He presented a global overview of biometric applications and compared different approaches to balancing security and privacy in the UK, the US, India, and the EU.
He emphasized that Europe’s GDPR and the upcoming AI Act set a trust-centered model based on risk assessment. He also discussed the challenges of deepfakes and image manipulation, highlighting the importance of multimodal biometrics combining face, voice, fingerprint, and iris data. His conclusion: “Technology must serve people — and that requires cooperation between science, business, and government.”

Debate: Digital Identity in Enterprises – New Opportunities
The first panel focused on the role of digital identity in business. Speakers agreed that eID and qualified trust services have become key drivers of efficiency, customer trust, and brand credibility — not just regulatory obligations.
Participants:
- Dalibor Kostic – Managing Director, GDNext
- Arkadiusz Malicki – Head of Digital Projects, PKO BP
- Rich Ramdanny – Director of Product Management, Sabre Corporation
- Edgars Stafeckis – CEO, TrustLynx

Rafał Sionkowski: The Future in Your Pocket – mObywatel and the Opportunities of eIDAS 2.0
Rafał Sionkowski, Chief Product Owner at Poland’s Central IT Centre (COI), outlined Poland’s roadmap for eIDAS 2.0 and the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI). Instead of waiting for EU standards, Poland is already implementing interoperable projects such as APTITUDE and the free qualified signature within the mObywatel app — unique in Europe.
Debate: EUDI Wallet in Practice
Experts discussed how EUDI Wallet can transform digital services, enabling citizens to securely share verified attributes across borders. The panel highlighted interoperability, certification, and user education as key to building lasting trust.
Participants:
- Tomasz Mielnicki – Co-founder, IDentonic
- Miłosz Brakoniecki – Partner and Board Member, Obserwatorium.biz
- Dr. Lucjan Hanzlik – Lecturer, CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information

Miłosz Brakoniecki: How Is Europe Implementing eIDAS 2?
Miłosz Brakoniecki analyzed the progress of eIDAS 2.0 across Europe, grouping countries into leaders, mid-tier adopters, and beginners. He emphasized that successful implementation depends on consistent regulation, public-private cooperation, and user trust.

Dr. Anna Przewor: Detecting Handwriting Forgery with AI
Dr. Anna Przewor presented pioneering research on AI-based handwriting forensics. Her team developed a CNC machine that mimics human writing and an AI model analyzing pressure, depth, and motion rhythm — achieving 79% accuracy. The results show that AI will soon be indispensable in forensic verification and document authenticity checks.

Panel: DORA, NIS2, and the AI Act – Risk or Opportunity?
Moderated by Prof. Marek Klonowski, this panel explored the impact of new EU regulations on innovation. Dr. Maria Dymitruk warned against over-regulating the AI ecosystem, while Prof. Michał Bernaczyk highlighted the need for balance between flexibility and security. The consensus: responsible regulation is the foundation of Europe’s digital sovereignty.
Participants:
- Dr. Maria Dymitruk – Lubasz & Partners
- Prof. Michał Bernaczyk – University of Wrocław and Gabriela Bar Law & AI
- Władysław Hydzik – IT Risk Officer, BNP Paribas
- Edward Koziarzewski – Legal Counsel, Managing Partner, CMM Law Firm

Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz: Innovation? Of Course! … But Let’s Not Forget About…
Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz, Chairman of the Honorary Committee of the 2024 Year of Economic Education, reminded that innovation must be guided by social responsibility. He called for stronger digital literacy, ethical design, and user awareness, stating: “Innovation is not an end in itself — it’s a tool to serve people and the common good.”
Krzysztof Polcyn: Digital Identity in Leasing
Krzysztof Polcyn (EFL) shared how digital identity is already revolutionizing leasing. The company built a process integrating biometrics, qualified signatures, and mObywatel verification. EUDI Wallet, he noted, will be a game-changer, enabling secure cross-border leasing and fraud prevention.

Debate: Digital Sovereignty and Security
The day concluded with a debate moderated by Eryk Libelt (IDENTT) on Europe’s digital sovereignty. Panelists agreed that true sovereignty means control over key technologies, not isolation. Cooperation between government, business, and society is essential for lasting digital resilience.

- Robert Oleński – Director of the Cybersecurity Office, ORLEN S.A.
