EUDI, or European Digital Identity, is the new EU-wide standard for digital identity, developed under the revised eIDAS Regulation (EU 2024/1183), which expands the existing electronic identification framework.

By 2026, each Member State will be required to offer citizens and businesses at least one EUDI Wallet — a mobile application or digital solution that allows users to securely store and share identification data, documents, and electronic signatures.

The digital wallet will enable the storage of not only basic personal details (such as name, date of birth, and national identifier) but also attestations (attributes) issued by public or private entities.

The European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) will simplify and strengthen digital identity verification for individuals (KYC), employees (KYE), and businesses (KYB) across sectors.

Through trusted, verifiable credentials, organizations will be able to confirm identities quickly and accurately, reducing administrative effort and the need for manual document checks. Users control which information they share, making interactions faster and more transparent.

EUDI also supports digital attributes — verified pieces of information, such as professional qualifications or organizational roles — which can be securely shared to simplify processes like onboarding, authorization, or business verification.
